Therapy to Heal Childhood Trauma and CPTSD in San Francisco
Overcome the effects of trauma and return to wholeness
Hi, I’m Taylor Simon.
I provide trauma therapy in San Francisco for teens and adults.
I am an Associate MFT | PCC therapist working under Dr. Kellen Grayson (LMFT Lic #50074)
The effects of complex trauma can impact every aspect of your life.
With complex trauma you may feel like you’re inherently flawed in a way that makes you unworthy of love, joy, and fulfillment - and not even know why. But the truth is, there is nothing wrong with you.
Regardless of what kind of trauma you’ve experienced, the way you relate to yourself and the world around you may be significantly altered, making it difficult to go about your daily life.
Traumatic experiences can cause significant distress. Maybe you…
Have nightmares, flashbacks or intrusive thoughts
Hide the parts of yourself that you’re afraid will draw criticism or ridicule
Fear that you’ll never know who you truly are
Struggle to connect with other people in an authentic and meaningful way
Are afraid you’ll feel stuck and afraid forever, never finding the fulfillment or self-expression you crave
-
Trauma therapy allows you the space — and grace — to explore how life-threatening events, abuse caused by oppressive systems, or toxic family dynamics in childhood may still be impacting you.
COMPLEX TRAUMA THERAPY IN SAN FRANCISCO
WHAT TO EXPECT
First and foremost, I want to acknowledge that beginning your journey to recovering from childhood trauma, systemic inequality and abuse, or PTSD may be a terrifying prospect. It’s scary to think about reliving the hardest experiences of your life.
My role as a trauma recovery therapist is to create a safe space for you to start exploring the ways that you’ve been impacted by the distressing experiences you’ve endured. I’m committed to being a trusted ally on your recovery journey.
You’ll never be pressured to talk about anything you’re not ready to discuss. We’ll work to make sense of the confusion your traumatic experiences have created and take the time to process any feelings of sadness, anger, and grief that arise.
Together, we’ll cultivate resilience and find meaning in your journey — both the good and the bad.
Healing from trauma and becoming a self-actualized person
It takes bravery to face the painful experiences you’ve carried with you throughout your life. But if you’re willing to mine the dark places within for the inherent wisdom you hold, you can step into who you really are. And you can shed who you’ve been told you are by people in your life who don’t really see you.
Healing the effects of trauma and returning to wholeness is a process of discovering your authentic spirit and realizing your full potential. Imagine for a moment what it would feel like to be free of inner conflict and confusion about who you truly are. To consciously live a life of creativity, interconnectedness, and joy.
The uncertainty and self-doubt you’ve felt for years (or maybe decades) is not who you are — it’s a trauma response that can be resolved over time.
You have the power to rewrite your story, heal the effects of trauma, and embody the free spirit that lives within you.
I can be reached by contact form, email, or phone.
I’ll be in touch within 2 business days.
Can’t wait to start this journey with you.
